Competitions
The Club is affiliated to the KCPA / PAGB (Kent County Photographic Society and Photographic Association of Great Britain). We enter competitions held by them as a Club and as Individuals. We can also offer support if you want to gain one of their qualifications. Please talk to any member of the Committee who will be able to advise who is the right person to help at the moment.

Other Clubs
If you join, or are a member of another club, you must let the Secretary know. It is not a problem if you do join one, but as KCPA competition rules do not allow two Clubs to make entries into a competition from the same person, we need to know which club is your main club so we don’t fall foul of the KCPA rules.

Competitions
The main club competitions are divided into two levels; Intermediate and Advanced. Competitions are held throughout the year and may be Colour print, Mono Print, DPI (Digital Projected Image) and may also have a set subject. There are separate rules for competitions and a copy of these is on the notice board and on the Website.

The deadline for submitting images for all competitions, whether print or DPI, is one week before the competition, this deadline is not flexible, but images may be submitted early.

Digital images are uploaded for competitions. You will receive an email link to the uploader soon after you join the club and Paul or Bill will be able to help should you require it.

Judging for competitions is done by qualified, external judges. Members are asked not to talk during judging or to pass comment on the quality of the judging.

Individual Awards
This is a way of measuring your own achievement. It allows you to attain Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. You will not be measured against others. A table is published on the notice board as soon as possible after competitions so you can check your own progress. Full detail on how the system works can be found on club notice boards and on the website. Bill and Tony will also be happy to talk you through the scheme.
